Welcome to Waterjourneys
We would
like to introduce you to Watsu® and other forms of aquatic therapy. Here, you will find a
brief explanation of the benefits of warm water therapy, its
origin, why it produces results and the various
physiological conditions served by warm water. In addition,
our clients will share some of the additional benefits they
have experienced.
The term, ' Waterjourneys,'
is not intended to denote a specific style or form of
therapy. The 'Waterjourneys' site has been developed in an
effort to create an awareness of our work and the space for
shared experience.
Watsu®
is a modality which is practiced in a warm water pool, with
the temperature maintained at 96 degrees. Watsu warm water
therapy grew out of Zen Shiatsu, where stretching is
emphasized in order to release pathways through which the
Chi energy flows. Watsu®
is a combination of yoga stretches, Shiatsu massage and
movement therapy. Conscious breathing enhances the Watsu®
session.
